Justin was torn between getting Claudette the medical treatment he knew she needed and staying by her side so she felt safe.

“You need to be checked for damage, Babe.”

“No I don’t. I need you beside me. What if something happens while you’re gone, getting help?”

“Okay. You win, but if you stop breathing again, you’re going to the hospital.”

“Deal.”

“Think you can stand up?”

“Yeah. I think so.”

Justin grabbed Claudette’s hand and put an arm behind her as he helped hoist her up to a standing position.

“Thanks. Now, how did you find me?”

“Instinct.”

Claudette rolled her eyes. “Fine. Don’t tell me. I’ll find out sooner or later anyway.”

Justin didn’t say a word. He just stared at her.

“What, Handsome?”

“Do you have a place where you can stay? Friends? Relatives?”

“Don’t worry, Gorgeous. I’ll figure something out.”

Justin shook his head. “Uh Uh. Not good enough. You’re staying with me.”

“Well, in that case, you better be kissin me soon or I may stop breathing again.”

“Not funny.”

“Fine. Suit yourself.”

“Come here, you!”

Justin grabbed Claudette around the waist and pulled her close, looking deeply in her eyes before their lips met.

Now you should be begging for more! Click the links below to read the other, fantastic teasers by my friends! :)

Tantalizing Tuesday Jingle Bells Blog Hop. 17-20 December:Tantalizing Tuesday Teaser #13: The Rescue--Continued

Happy Tantalizing Tuesday! If you don't know what Tantalizing Tuesday is: it's the day several of my peers and I write a 200 word teaser on a picture of our choosing. Today, I am continuing a story from my previous Friday teaser THE RESCUE. When you're finished reading my little contribution, please click the link below to read what my peers have come up with today. Don't forget to comment on each post as there are prizes to be had. I will be giving a copy of my very short story HAPPY REUNION to two people who comment on my posts next Tuesday. Enjoy!

Justin carried Claudette out into the fresh air and laid her on ground. She was unconscious. He immediately checked her vitals and was alarmed by how slow her pulse was. She wasn’t breathing either.

Justin crossed his hands over Claudette’s chest and began compressions. He pumped her chest 30 times, checked her breathing, and began to worry.

“Don’t die on me, Claudette!”

He checked her breathing again. Nothing. A tear slid down his cheek as he tilted her head back, plugged her nose, and lowered his lips onto hers. He breathed into her five times, then began the chest compressions again.

“Come on, Baby! I need you to pull through!”

Tears streaming his face, he refused to give up. He began breathing into her again after 30 more compressions.

Claudette’s body lurched and she began to cough. Justin lifted her into a seated position and rubbed her back as she finished her fit. She looked up at him and recognition showed on her face. She gave a weak smile.

“Thank you, Justin. How did you find me?”

“Don’t worry about that right now. I’m just glad you’re still alive. I’ll go get a medic.”

“No! I’m fine. Don’t leave me.”

I do hope you enjoyed my little tease. Please click the link below and click each contributor's name to read their snippets for the day. Show some love! :)

Flash Fiction Friday #14: The Rescue

Happy Friday everyone! It's Flash Fiction time! Some of my buds and I will be writing a 100 word flasher, inspired by one picture for all to read! Things could get interesting! After reading how the picture inspired me, stop by the other pages to read their take on it! Have fun!

He knew the apartment well: Number 215; Claudette’s apartment. He braced himself before he went in. One. Two. Three. With that, he kicked the door in. Smoke billowed out of the apartment and engulfed him. Lowering his face, he ran in, looking all over the place for Claudette. He ran from room to room in search of the stripper he had fallen in love with and when he reached the bathroom, he had found her. She was laying unconscious on the floor, nothing on but her fishnet stockings. He lifted her off the floor and threw her over his shoulder.
